Finksburg Baseball or Softball Scholarship
About the scholarship
We are proud that since 2019, Finksburg Baseball and Softball began a scholarship program offering one or two scholarships for graduating seniors who have participated in our program, at any level. We have set up funding to be awarded each year, generated primarily by donations from our Lions Travel Players. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have increased the amount of the scholarship each year with the 2024 scholarship for $1,200. We would like to thank the Roaring Run Lions Club for their support with the implementation.
If you are a graduating high school senior and a current or former player, please review the attached criteria and application. We are very proud of our players and look forward to seeing them advance after high school. Please spread the word to any seniors who have been involved in any form of Finksburg Baseball or Lady Lions Softball. If you'd like to make a tax-exempt donation specifically to this fund, contact us here.

2023 Finksburg Baseball & Softball Scholarships
For 2024, our Finksburg Baseball Scholarship award goes to Tommy Roelke, who's still playing on our 18u travel team as a pitcher and third baseman. Tommy is graduating from Winters Mill, where he played all 4 years of HS ball, with a 4.5 GPA, and is headed off to the University of MD in the fall to study Mechanical Engineering at the Clark School. Tommy has played with Finksburg since he was 4 and has done a TON of volunteer work with our program, both behind the scenes and as a coach and clinic leader. He also umpires in both our rec and travel leagues. He's played in our Lions Travel Program since 12u and considers his 12u trip to Cooperstown one of his best Finksburg memories.
